Step objectives
At the end of this step you will be able to see and navigate through the data that was received from the IT department or from the SAP system. Together we will look at the totals per different categories and compare these to reports from the business in order to ensure that the data received is complete and accurate and that we understand it. For example, we need to ensure that we understand which fields are for document currency, which are for local currency and that we have the data for the correct date period and scope of the audit.

- Set-up meeting in calendly link with the data analytics team
- Obtain relevant totals / business reports (such as Trial Balance/ Financial Statements, or other relevant reports) from the business that can be compared to the figures obtained by the data analytics team.
- Review the initial totals that were prepared by the data analytics team and compare to the figures coming from the business.
- Troubleshoot and help the data analytics team resolve any important discrepancies.
- Reconsider the audit-specific tests in-light of any new information and update the functional specification template.

Meeting agenda:
- Review the comparisons between the data and the business figures.
- Brainstorm how to resolve major discrepancies in numbers, if any.
- Review the functional specification and confirm understanding for audit-specific tests.
Tasks to do before the meeting
1/ Send to the data analytics, team figures from the business that should help them to check that the data that they have received is complete and accurate. Please do this about one week before the meeting, so that the data analytics team have time to try working out any discrepancies before the meeting.
2/ Fill in the functional specification template for your data tests.
